At the museum you will see six rooms of exhibits that tell the colorful story of the history of these legendary lawmen. If you have time, catch the video presentation on the history of the Texas Rangers.

The Hall of Fame celebrates all areas of sports, from high school to college to professional, from football to boxing to golf.

Dr Pepper Museum
Located at 5th and Mary Street - Allow 1.5 hours for
a guided tour of the museum and 30 minutes to enjoy the
Old-Fashioned Soda Fountain.
Greeted by an animatronic Dr. Alderton, who created Dr Pepper
at the Old Corner Drug Store in Waco in 1885, one year before
Coca-Cola, try out the numerous interactive exhibits, watch
old Dr Pepper commercials, see how the drink was bottled,
and visit the Soft Drink Hall of Fame.

Armstrong Browning Library
Located on Baylor campus - Allow 1 hour for a guided
tour of the library.
This architectural masterpiece was constructed to house
an extensive collection of original manuscripts and personal
items of poets Robert and Elizabeth Barrett Browning.

Day One

Mayborn Museum Complex
Located on University Parks Drive - Allow 2 - 2.5 hours
for a tour of the museum.
A natural science and cultural history museum featuring
natural history exhibits with walk-in dioramas and exploration
stations, a hands-on discovery center with 16 themed rooms,
and a 13-acre historic village.
Allow 20 minutes driving and loading time.
East Terrace House
Located on Martin Luther King Driver, overlooking the Brazos
River - Allow 1 hour for a tour of the house.
Part of the Historic Waco Foundation, this Italianate Villa-style
home has a unique and entertaining history. Waco has four
other restored homes available to tour. Allow 3 hours to
tour all 5 homes.
Spirit of the
Rivers paddlewheel boat - Located at the Lake Brazos
Steakhouse on Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive. Allow 1.5
hours for a lunch tour and 1 hour for a scenic tour.
The leisurely pace of this paddlewheel boat will present
a marvelous view of Baylor University, Waco's historic Suspension
Bridge, downtown, and the natural beauty of woods, wetlands,
and the majestic limestone cliffs of Cameron Park. Watch
for exotic birds and other wildlife along the way.

Suspension Bridge

Allow 45 minutes for Bridge and driving tour.
Built in 1870, the bridge was designed by John Roebling,
who later built the famous Brooklyn Bridge.
Earle-Harrison House
& Pape Gardens
Located on 5th Street - Allow 1 hour for a tour of the
home and grounds.
Waco's beautiful antebellum museum home is surrounded by
five acres of lawns and gardens.

Day two
Cameron Park Zoo
Located on 4th Street - Allow 2 hours to tour the Zoo.
From the comical antics of the Gibbon apes, to the
state-of-the-art herpetarium, and new Brazos River Country
exhibit, the Cameron Park Zoo should not be missed. This
natural habitat zoo is a highlight of the entire State.
Allow 20 minutes for driving and loading time.
Art Center Waco
Located on the McLennan County College campus - Allow
1 hour to tour the Center.
The Center houses traveling exhibits throughout, visit their
website for upcoming shows. After enjoying the current exhibition,
walk along the sculpture walk overlooking the confluence
of the Brazos and Bosque Rivers far below. Presiding over
the sculpture walk is the Waco Door, a six-ton sculpture
by famous Wacoan Robert Wilson.

Homestead Heritage
Located 11 miles North of Waco - Allow 2 hours to tour
the community.
A faith-based community that honors and teaches the art
of fine handcrafts. Here you will enjoy a delicious lunch
from their deli, featuring the freshest ingredients, with
homemade breads, pastries, and ice creams. After lunch,
you can watch demonstrations of a blacksmith forging metal
into works of art, lovely pottery making and firing, and
fine wood furniture made using traditional methods of joinery.
