The 1953 Waco Tornado: A Collection (DVD Set)

"On May 11, 1953, one of the deadliest tornadoes in United States history descended on downtown Waco and shook the soul of a community." This DVD set includes each of the three videos in the "The 1953 Waco Tornado" series - The Untold Stories, Images and Reflections and More Untold Stories. The stories and pictures contained in the three documentaries produced by the City of Waco to recount the 1953 Waco Tornado represent only some of the thousands that could be told. We have attempted to capture as many stories as possible. The format used for these documentaries was one that allowed people to simply recall their memories rather than respond to questions typical of an interview format. We elected to not to shorten some of their stories simply to fit into a video production format. No scripts were written, no comments were expressed outside of the actual stories told. We were able to include many photos taken by news and professional photographers as well as many personal pictures provided by those who shared their stories. We have also included newsreel, home movie film and radio reports from the scene and later given to the City of Waco. It is our hope that these videos will help document for history the events, tragedy and loss experienced by the Waco community. Boxed set of 3 DVDs, Copyright 2004, Run time: 5:52.
