We opened bids on September 1, 2009 and the news is good!

We had 15 construction companies bid on the project and, unlike the first go-around, all 15 bids came in under our project budget of $15.5 million!

We are currently in the process of evaluating the low bid and preparing to take a recommendation to City Council in early October to award the construction contract.  This is all good because it looks like we may be able to pick up some of the original items that we had cut out of the project when we had to revise after the first bid attempt. 

I will come back with more specific detail after we get approval from Waco City Council and prepare to begin the physical work.  Meanwhile, we are currently in process of geting all of the necessary abatement completed in the back-of-house areas and will have more progress news soon.
