Waco Convention Center Renovation Blog

WE ARE OPEN! - Washington Ave. entrance is temporarily closed

The Convention Center may look like it is closed - if you approach it from the Washington Avenue side of the building...but we are open!  Currently, abatement work is occurring on the exterior of the north side of the building and the Washington Ave entrance is closed...probably through October 10.

You may enter the building from the south side - off of Franklin Ave, cross the Freedom Fountain plaza and enter through the glass doors.  Or, from the west end of the building next to City Hall.  Our main office is open  - Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm or call us a (254)750-5810.

Expect to see the construction contract go to the Waco City Council on Tuesday, October 20 for approval and award.  The construction project itself will begin within a few weeks of that date so we are getting closer!

Is there an awarded general contractor for the Convention Center Renovation?

Regards,

Rob

The Waco City Council will award the construction contract at their October 20 Council Meeting. As soon as that occurs I will post on this blog details about the construction company and the project. Of course the City Council meetings are open to the public and you can check out the City's website at www.waco-texas.com as well.

Liz, we are anxiously following the renovation process as it develops. Do you have a simple floor plan of what the ground level renovated floor plan will be when all work is done, i.e., entrances, rooms, walls, etc. that you can post on the blog or send to me? Thank you.
Best regards,

Charlie - thanks for your question on the floor plan. I have a construction floor plan and will see if I can get it design modified to be appropriate for event planners to see how the layouts of each level will be once construction is complete. I will post to the blog when I have it, and I will have staff send you one as well. Don't know if I can get that out this week, but will try for within the next couple of weeks. Thanks for the question and of course, your custom. We look forward to having NCRS back in the WCC! LIZ
