The Waco Convention Center is in the beginning phase of a $17.5 million renovation and expansion project that is expected to take 18-24 months to complete, with construction planned to begin in the Fall of 2008.

The project will include adding approximately 25,000 square feet of pre-function and meeting space, new interior finishes, improving technology offerings for customers, improving the catering and back-of-the-house service capabilities of the facility and wrapping the entire façade in a new, modern exterior that will bring natural light and openness to this 40-year old introverted facility.

The renovation and expansion will allow patrons to experience beautiful views of the Brazos River which runs alongside the WCC in downtown Waco, only 6 blocks off of Interstate 35.

The Waco Convention Center and Visitors Bureau Staff plan to continue operation of the facility during the renovation. Clients have been notified and are being kept informed on updates and information as the project progresses. More detailed information is available for customers on the Waco CVB’s website, www.wacocvb.com, including architectural visuals of the renovated building.
