Lake Waco Dam Area Four-kilometer graded cross country course located below the Lake Waco Dam. The course allows 200 to 250 runners to start simultaneously. Accessible from the hike-and-bike trail that the Corps built across the dam. The hike-and-bike trailhead and parking area is located on the west side of Airport Drive. Brazos River The Brazos River runs from McLennan Community College campus through downtown Waco and past the Baylor Marina. This part of the scenic river is 4-5 miles long with an average width of 100 yards and a depth of 22 feet - 25 feet. The river is generally straight and is the home of the annual Drag Boat Races. It is a training facility for numerous university rowing teams from throughout the country. Bleacher seating in Cameron Park East accommodates 500-plus people. |

Cameron Park - Disc Golf Courses The City of Waco maintains disc golf courses at Cameron Park and Cameron Park East. The Cameron Park course is suited for players of all skill levels. The Cameron Park East course is one of the more challenging courses in Texas. Both courses stretch along the Brazos River and incorporate Cameron Park's scenic landscape into the field of play. Mountain Biking Cameron Park - Waco's 416-acre Cameron Park is one of the largest municipal parks in Texas. Cameron Park retains its natural beauty with hiking and mountain biking trails through lush vegetation, atop limestone cliffs and over natural springs and waterways. Two rivers, the Brazos and the Bosque, run through the park and offer banks, docks and water for fishing and water sports. The eight-mile-plus course runs through most of the park. Elevation varies from 390 feet to 523 feet. National cross-country races (NORBA-sanctioned) have been held in the park. |
