Volunteer Opportunities

Do you love Waco? Do you get excited when you think of all of the visitors who come through our community, and then feel disappointed if they never stop to see our beautiful Cameron Park or our world-class attractions? Do you always tell friends and family about your home town and encourage them to come and visit? If that describes you, then…We want you!

The City of Waco is actively recruiting a diverse group of volunteers to enhance the Waco & Heart of Texas visitor experience by being friendly, available, and knowledgeable about events, restaurants, hotels and more. This new group will be called the HoT Line.

HoT Line assignments may include working information tables and the mobile gift shop at conventions and events, acting as a step-on guide for tour groups, helping at special events downtown and at area attractions, and other duties as needed. Volunteers may be asked to review local restaurants, attractions and events and post about them through social media and on travel focused websites.

If you are interested in being a HoT Line volunteer, please complete the application form and the two background check release forms. One of the forms must be notarized; there is a free notary service available at our Human Resources Dept. in City Hall. Please return all three forms to Carla Pendergraft at PO Box 2570, Waco, TX 76702-2570.
