SUMMERTIME EVENTS ARE HEATING UP IN WACO
WACO, Texas - The Waco Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) announced that Waco is the destination for numerous horse shows and outdoor events for the month of June.
Over 200 hundred visitors are expected at the annual Texas Appaloosa Horse Show, occurring at the Heart O' Texas Fair Complex - Dodge Show Pavilion June 1-3. Also scheduled at the complex during the month of June are three Blue Ribbon Hunter Jumper Horse Shows. These three shows, which take place June 13-17, June 20-24, and June 27-July 1, will be held at both the Coliseum and the Dodge Show Pavilion. Expected attendance is roughly 500 visitors. The Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce will host the Starburst Junior Golf Classic June 11-13. This golf tournament, which has an expected attendance of 1,500 visitors, will be at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course. On June 11-13, the Texas Department of Transportation's (TxDOT) will host their annual Maintenance/Operations Conference at the Waco Convention Center. TxDOT holds this conference every year for their traffic operations department. The expected attendance is 1,000 attendees.
The Texas Association for Pupil Transportation's (TAPT) Annual Conference and Equipment Show will be held at the Waco Convention Center June 15-21. The purpose of TAPT is to promote safe and efficient pupil transportation operations for public school districts in Texas. The expected attendance of this conference is 1,000 participants.
"We are excited to have these events being held in Waco during the month of June," said Elizabeth Taylor, Director of the Waco Convention & Visitors Bureau. "The expected economic impact of these groups is roughly $2.9 million."
