MAY IS BLOOMING WITH EXCITING EVENTS
WACO, Texas - The Waco Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) announced that Waco will be the location for various events during the month of May.
The Technology Student Association is returning to the Waco Convention Center for its 30th annual state convention. The convention, which takes place May 3-5, focuses on technology education and offers 5,000 high school and middle school students an opportunity to compete against their peers in a variety of world problem-solving activities.
The Texas Take Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS) State Recognition Days will be held at the Waco Convention Center May 18-19. This year's theme is the TOPS Renaissance Faire. The TOPS group will once again regroup for their "battle against gluttony and begin anew" on their journey to the "Kingdom of Keep Off Pounds Sensibly". This event guarantees "magic, wonder, and endless good cheer to be had by all" as they "join together in the TOPS land of enchantment where merriment abounds."
Taking place at the Heart O' Texas Fair Complex in May are the Cross Timbers & Texas Paint Horse Club event May 5-6, the Hunter Jumper Horse Show May 17-19, and the Zone 4 Paint Horse Show May 24-27.
"We are excited to have these events being held in Waco," said Elizabeth Taylor, Director of the Waco Convention & Visitors Bureau. "These groups, combined with smaller groups and various events throughout the city, will have a significant economic impact."
